Suddenly Diamonds Perfume - Lidl's own brand fragrance

Bonjour! While I was doing a rare shopping for groceries in Lidl's this week - I happened to come across this wee gem at the beauty isle.

Say hello to "Suddenly Diamonds" - a dupe for the Hugo Boss Orange perfume (My all time favorite scent!

Boss Orange was my 'signature' scent for years - I purchased my first bottle over 4 years ago and wore it continuously (I must have went through 2 x 50 ml bottles a year as I always got one for both my birthday and at Christmas!)
So I can confidently compare it against the Lidl own brand version.
I first smelt this perfume a couple of months back, while I was in the staff room at work, were a colleague had sprayed the 'Suddenly Diamonds' scent and without looking I said "that Boss Orange is such a delicious scent", to which she replied "Oh no! This isn't Boss - it's a Lidl's perfume!"
I was pleasantly surprised at the similar notes i smelt and thus went on the hunt to get my own 'cheaper version' of the original.

Cheekily I did purchase 4 bottles of it - as I knew I was going to get some wear out of them!

Onto the comparison!
The packaging is VERY similar!  'Suddenly Diamonds' has the same white and orange embossment as 'Hugo Boss Orange' - A clean and simple package.
The bottle is stylish, with a sharp and modern shape. You wouldn't think it was a budget perfume that's for sure!
The perfume liquid is orange tinted - again like the Boss version - but this does not transfer onto clothing.

The scent is AMAZING!
Seriously - it is a close replica of Boss Orange without a doubt. I would say that is has a more 'sexier' after smell to it than Boss. Not as 'sweet' but more muskier.

I had a tad touch left of my Boss Orange, which i sprayed on the right wrist and wore Suddenly Diamonds on the left for a whole day to compare them.

Although Boss Orange did last longer (on average 2 hours more), Suddenly Diamonds did fade better as the overall scent did not change as much as the Boss version did over the time period.

So would I re-purchase my signature scent Boss Orange again?....
...Nope!

I will happily use 'Suddenly Diamonds' as it is much kinder to my bank balance! And not myself, nor others could tell the two perfumes between themselves.

I would highly recommend even just trying the Lidl version of such a classic scent - as it won't make dent in your purse and it helps that you can pop a bottle into your trolly with your groceries and be none the wiser!

Priced at £3.99 for 50ml eau de parfum -  Available at Lidl
